I had a dream this morning and I asked the Lord if he had given me this dream. He stated that he had. Most dreams I dream are not from the Lord, some are related to what I viewed on TV prior to going to sleep or a recent experience or something, so I always asked for confirmation if a dream is from the Lord or not.
The specifics of this dream pertain to everyone.
This dream showed people demonstrating the second commandment. Here is Jesus, referring to the first and second commandment:
Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself'(Matthew 22:36-39)nkjv.
People in my dream were friendly toward one another, carpooling together, sharing their newspapers, checking with their neighbors, making sure everything was cool.
You might say is that all there was to your dream? There is a lot in that dream. The second commandment, you don't often see people practicing. Have you ever thought, that maybe the economy getting as bad as it is, bringing more people down on a common level is an opportunity or a method to get people to practice the second commandment. Maybe it takes bringing people down off their high horses and allowing them to suffer a little bit in order for them to see that they are not better than anyone else. Perhaps the economy will get so bad that people will have to pool their resources together to make ends meet. Perhaps this is what it takes for us to start acting neighborly again. When is the last time someone knock on your door for a cup of sugar? The days of the Trading Post era most likely was because it was hard times and people needed each other to get through the hard times.
Hard times don’t make the second commandment seem like a bad idea. It actually seems like a very good idea.
The book of Romans, chapter 2 verse 11 lets us know that God does not have any respect of person. This means he loves us all the same. If he has no respect of persons, why should we have? Maybe he has to bring us down off our high horses to open up our eyes.
